The Web's open and scalable environment provides a platform for content and application developers worldwide and is a key to its success. The potential for Augmented Reality is very great, but for it to reach its potential, there must be open systems and widely accepted protocols for use by a variety of content publishers, designers of experiences we have yet to anticipate and the builders/suppliers of many, many different end user devices.
The W3C is hosting a workshop open to all those interested in the topic of Open Augmented Reality and the Web. Participants will contribute to shared understanding and explore the many opportunities and challenges at the intersection of Augmented Reality and the Web.
