Was a good time to be in Zürich at the ARDevCamp, we started on Sunday evenning with the dinner at the Cow. Christine has put together very goos people from Swiss interestsd in Augmented Reality. for me was very important to meet with Rolf von Behrens, a old friend of mine working now in the Innovation Incubator at Swisscom. I know him from the ancestral times of social networking, we meet first for a long time at the beginning of Xing. He was the head and mind behind the Product Mangement strategy at Xing, with a clear and deep understanding of Social networks Phisics.
I was gast to the Jugendherberge, a very good location for Augmented Reality enthusiasts with low budget like me, but a very good place to sleep.
Next days start with a short introduction from Siddhartha Arora, a very passionate mind from IBM - i must to specify that IBM was sponsoring this event. Was very interesting to see how flexible is IBM on the Back End - I do not like the Cloud Computing buzzword.
Christine Perey follow him with a very Augmented Reality briefing, where we are and what we do. I like his angajament, and I ask me - you are not tired when you pitch so much? But I think she has the explorer blood - like the Augmented Citizen ( that's me ;-)). Now is a new to explore new spaces - Bruce Sterling mention WebSensors in his book, I call this Synthetic Augmented Reality Markers - SARMs ( this are not necessary to be coupled to the web ;-), they can be communication channels between objetcs, animals etc.)
We started to put our Session on the Phisical Placeboard, why was nobody come to the Idea to build a Digital one, for every events like ARDevCamp? With a mobile client where you can make rating for the Messages :-)
We had at the beginning just 3 slots of 1:30, but many people wanted to make more session, I had "the brilliant Idea" - hey why are you not modest? sorry, it's about me ;-) - to short this to just 1 hour, then we have the posibillities to have 4 session :-)
First we started with User Experience, the proposal come from a team from Swisscom Strategy & Innovation with Sibylle Peuker - sen. UX and Martin Feuz. They had developed strategy based on Personas, maybe they can expand this to social cluster, think intereaction will be more simplified with the social atom patterns :-).
the results were very promised, next will be post on http://www.ARDevCamp.org at the section dedicated for ArDevCamp in Zürich.
On the next session I choose Games, with Matthias Sala from http://www.gbanga.com . In paralel was the Business session, I choose this because I am moderating the Mobile Games at Xing and want to have some new material for the members of the Group.
We had a tasks video force with Games, it's very intersting to see how powerfull is the AR Games business sector. I am sure that this will exploding and bring very strong revenues to the Games Developer communities.
Next Section was Natural Feature Recognition with Till Quack CTO from http://www.Kooaba.com . He has a very deep understanding of the Augmented Reality Enhanced Methodology of Natural Feature Recognition, he was working for years on this area. I see a very strong future for Kooaba, with a strong leaders team - Herbert Bay CEO and Marc Steffen.
The last Session was a coproduction between me and Peter Meier from http://www.Metaio.com. I started with my Augmented Citizen world, and I was surprise about the good understanding of the Permission & Privacy challenges in a Augmented Reality World.
At this moment our first generation AugmWare's ( Tools for Augmented Reality development ) doesn't provide a real mechanism and architecture to protectect the Augmented Citizen from this point of view. I have identified more AugmWare point of attacks:
- No legal framework for complex privacy issues
- Mobile Augmented Reality intrusion hacks
- Augmented Identity Phishing
phishing |ˈfi sh i ng | noun
the activity of defrauding an online account holder of financial information by posing as a legitimate company : [as adj. ] phishing exercises in which criminals create replicas of commercial Web sites.
DERIVATIVES phish verbORIGIN 1990s: inspired by fishing, perhaps borrowing the ph from phony.
My adaugio:AR phishing exercises in which criminals create replicas of instant reality layers for real objects!!
I recommand to take a look at my complete presentation about teh Augmented Citizen: ...
After was the time for Peter to present http://www.Junaio.com, I think the most creative community that I seen before. Metaio put the Tools in place and the developer of augmented reality content can very active.
